- City of LA pickup: LA Sanitation takes mattresses and box springs free on trash day. It's for homes with 1 to 4 units. Book with MyLA311 or 1-800-773-2489.
- Bye Bye Mattress: California's free mattress drop-off program. Sites take mattresses and box springs, but not crib mattresses or bed frames.
- Buying a new mattress? By California law, the store must offer to take your old one. It's at no extra cost when they deliver.
- Burbank residents: drop off one mattress and one box spring free. The city drop-off center is at 500 S. Flower St.
